There’s a mushroom rush in progress. Near Fort Smith, in Canada’s Northwest Territories, some people have set up camp near a burn zone and are raking in $200 to $500 a day picking morels (at a mere $5 per pound!). Note to author: They are “morels” not “morales!”
From the pictures, they look like they “might” be black morels (Morchella elata), which are known to pop up in a year following a fire.
